MBF parents and guardians

Do you want to be involved in implementing high-quality junior activities?

Pay for, transport and encourage! In addition to these basic things, parents of junior players can do more to support MBF's goal of providing quality table tennis activities, especially for children and young people. On this page we will explain in more detail what we hope parents and guardians will do at MBF.

The club's coaches and leaders offer children and young people the best possible coaching. It is important that the children's guardians help them, if possible, to create the conditions for a positive atmosphere, which is needed to feel the joy of the game and develop in table tennis. Our club's activities are largely based on volunteer work and even a small contribution helps.

Examples of volunteer tasks:

  • Acting as a contact person or driver for Divarijengi:
    • You agree on game times and locations with your opponents.
    • Transport players to venues if necessary
  • Participating in the organization of competitions and other events (helping at the registration desk, judging, moving tables, etc.). MBF organizes the following competitions:
    • Pongfinity Cup
    • Junior Championships…
  • Participation in camp arrangements
    • the chef takes care of the meal
    • Transporting campers
  • As an assistant coach for training
    • Everything from collecting balls to your own skills
  • Board duties and participation in working groups

MBF encourages and welcomes parents and guardians to bring ideas to develop our activities, so please contact club coordinator Ildiko Kadari (ildiko.kadar@mbf.fi) with a low threshold!

Intended for MBF members sporttis.netHere, parents can see each other's names, addresses and phone numbers as well as the players' names. Through it, parents can also send emails to club members.

For this you need a username and password for use of sporttis.net. If you do not have this, please contact Risto Karvonen (risto.karvonen@k-karvonen.fi).

We especially hope that parents and guardians:

  • You feel safe when you leave your child for training or camps.
  • You ensure that children arrive at practices, camps and competitions on time.
  • You encourage your child regardless of the outcome.
  • You provide positive and, if necessary, critical feedback to coaches or players and suggest changes in a constructive and concrete way after competitions, camps or practices.
  • You leave the playing area to the players and coaches during matches. To develop player self-esteem, we prefer to let the players control the game themselves rather than receiving coaching instructions from their parents or guardians.
  • You are actively involved in our club's activities.
  • You will take a referee course to better understand table tennis and help organize competitions.
