table tennis carnival on Meilahti Day
Tengo Nakamura and Matti Vainio organized a table tennis carnival on Saturday, September 5, 2026 in Valpurinpuisto as part of Meilahti DayYoung and older people from Meilahti came to learn and try out table tennis.
We distributed about a dozen “Start playing table tennis!” flyers and told people about our activities and HSM table tennis.
The sun was shining, the music was playing and people were in a good mood.
Former Meilahti resident, who started at MBF as a junior, and Finnish table tennis champion in 1974 and 1979, Martti “Mara” Autio, came with his grandchildren to say hello. So did MBF’s own Miriam Hägele, who had come to see the Rope Skipping performance.
You never know if there will be a boy or girl from Meilahti at the table tennis carnival who will be excited to follow Mara's table tennis path.
