Medal rain at the Junior Swedish Championship

  • May, Mon, 2025

The MBF juniors performed excellently at the Finnish Championship held in Oulu. MBF took first place in the medal table with four gold medals and in addition to the victories, our club achieved one silver and three second place medals.

Kamilla Kadar and Lassi Lehtola took the doubles championships. Kamilla won the 12-year-old singles by a landslide and Lassi was equally clear number one in the 18-year-old singles. Neither lost a single match on their way to the championship.

Kamilla also took bronze in the girls' 18-level event.

In the 12-year-old team competition, Kamilla and Paola Noso Estrada won gold – and given their age, the young champions can defend their championship next year.

The 18-year-old team competition was won by MBF with their team of Lassi, Sam Londen and Leon. ViherlaihoIn the semifinals, Leon took an important victory over Jimi Koivumäki.

The team competitions also brought one additional medal when Linus Lundström and Luca Solapuro took bronze in the boys 12-meter series.

More success came in doubles. Lassi and Leon reached the final in the boys' 18-year-old doubles and Kamilla and Sisu Sammalkorpi reached the semifinals in the 18-year-old mixed doubles.

"I really like competitions. Together with the players and parents who created the great team spirit at MBF, I was excited about every ball"
– Coach Ibrahim Sen

In addition to the medals won, it can be said that the juniors' enthusiasm for training was evident in the competitions in a wonderful way. For example, Magnus Jackson made a great surprise in the boys 12 class by defeating PT Espoo's Roman Tamil, who was significantly taller than him. The increased training promises success in the coming years.

A big thank you also goes to coaches Ibrahim Sen and Ildiko Kadari and to the parents who provided support.
