MBF brought the Junnu trophy from the beginner's competition to Ruskeasuo
The eighth joint beginner competitions between MBF and PTS Sherwood attracted 34 competitors in different age and competition categories. In the beginner competitions held in Kerava on April 25, 2026, MBF took the PTS Sherwood junior cup ahead of the host club and PT Espoo.
There were players from many different clubs, including: MBF, PTS Sherwood, PT Espoo, Maraton, KoKa, Smash, and HäKi. It was especially gratifying to see players and support staff from different clubs in Finland.
There were eight juniors, one adult player and the team's coach Junjie Wu from MBF.

The competent team at PTS Sherwood was responsible for the arrangements. Parents and supporters were well-attended, as were strong table tennis influencers from the clubs, such as Jens Weckström from Maraton and Esko Heikkinen from KoKa.
The Heavy Rating series was won by MBF's Leo Jakab. This category included the toughest players in the competition, who had a competitive background and already had rating points.
In an exciting and fast-paced final, Leo defeated Maraton's promising Ivar Karlsson 3-0. Both had won their respective preliminary groups with clean play, where Leo's confident and versatile play and Ivar's sharp attacking play paid off.
Elo Hynnönen (MBF) defeated Luka Kolondjovski (PTS Sherwood) with his effective forehand attack in the final pool fours placement match.

In the Light Rating series, MBF dominated the top positions: Kristupas Cesnaitis took the win ahead of teammate Noa Dolencia. Both had won their own starting pools, which featured great players from different clubs – it was clear that the level in the class was tough.
Kristupas defeated, among others, the promising Kristian Sakse (KoKa) in his pool.
Eino Pikkarainen (PTS Sherwood) was the best in the 6-9 year old category. Adhye Wanniarachchi, who recently started at MBF, represented the club well and took one win.

Matias Lylynen (Smash) took the victory in the 11-year-old category.
Lassi Holmberg (MBF) won the 12-14 year old category.

The victory in the adult category was taken by Luka Kolondjovski (PTS Sherwood). Adhye and (father) Tharanga Wanniarachchi, who started gradually in MBF, played with an open mind. Excellent beginner's competition experience!
Until now, the “PTS Sherwood Junior Cup” has been won by the club playing on its home field.
It was especially exciting that MBF was able to steal the coveted Junnu Cup from Ruskeasuo for the first time. Welcome to try to win it in the August beginner competitions in Ruskeasuo., coach Junjie Wu.
